npc kill — the things i do for you, britt
[ It was late Thursday evening, the card guards watching the Red Queen's Timeshare have long since begun their routes for patrolling. The front gate is unlocked, a common mistake the dim-witted protectors make.
If someone was to enter, now would be the time. ]

In fact, she's been watching the guards' movements all week long. Now's her chance - if she waits too long, she might not be able to find anything useful before someone is killed.
With the gate unattended and unlocked, she eases it open, slips inside, and shuts it behind her so that it's not immediately obvious someone has intruded. She takes a breath, then taps both her hands to her cheeks.]
Okay, Sheba, don't wuss out now...
[In she goes!]
no subject
She can either go through two entranceways: the front or around the corner of the timeshare through an open window. ]
no subject
Sheba wastes a little time searching for that trap door - but once she doesn't find it, she heads for the window. A pause, and then she sneaks a peek to see what she can see through it. If it looks relatively clear, she'll climb right on in!]

She has one way out. Proceed? ]
no subject
And, to be totally honest, once she makes it through the window she's going to head on over and look at what was being prepared. If there's anything she can take without it being immediately obvious she's going to eat some of it, just so she can say she stole food from the Queen.
If taking a piece would be obvious, though, she'll leave it alone and head for the exit to explore further.]
no subject
As she exits, she will see 3 card guards on patrol. There is two ways to take: one that will lead to the ballroom and one that will lead to the guest bedroom closest to her. ]
no subject
To the ballroom she goes! Sneaking all the way.
At least she's eaten, so she doesn't have to worry about her stomach growling and blowing her cover.]
no subject
Inside of the ballroom, she's good enough not to make a sound. Wide openings and tall ceilings make the room look luxurious even if it seems to be halfway decorated. There are tables in the corner all decorated with hearts. There seems to be a grand stage at the back.
Looking for anything specific, girl? ]

Maybe there's some kind of a trapdoor here...? Maybe she just wants Spoilers. This is probably where the ball she refused to go to is going to take place, after all, so she's got the somewhat optimistic idea that she can report back on whatever she finds to Ivan so he's not caught off guard by anything here.
Of course, that would require her to survive this, so that's not going to happen.]

She will see a small area labeled "do not cross" — if she does, she will see this is where the Queen will be seated. There is a placement card with an actual script involved for public speeches. The speech reads as followed:
To my esteemed guests,
While you are all brought here with different goals and different wishes — it is here that you have dedicated your unbirthdays to a noble cause. For the red roses. I thank you, truly for the celebration you allowed and continue to have take place. I am not a cruel host, so I will allow you to leave from which you came in a very short while.
So please enjoy your evening and let's encourage the roses to forever bloom crimson. ]

...
[Time to be petty!
Sheba brings a finger up to her mouth and bites down just enough to draw blood - then she dips her fingernail in it so that she can use the blood to cross out the "not" in "I am not a cruel host." She crosses out the "so" a moment later, scribbling in "but" just above it.
Now it reads: I am a cruel host, but I will allow you to leave from which you came in a very short while.
That's more accurate, she thinks.
That done, she gives another glance to the room, then retreats back the way she came to check on the guards' patrol - is the coast clear enough for her to make it to the bedroom?]

The blankets are not made, there's half drank wine glasses on the end table and a few books left near the nightstand — War and Peace is the only recognizable one (? coz she from fantasy world). There is a summary on the back of the book at least. ]
no subject
because she will totally drink the wine and look at the summary on the back of the book if she can. she'll also root through the blankets in case anything got dropped or left behind. and if there are any drawers that aren't locked? she's going through them.
the queen lost all right to privacy when she had them start murdering each other tbh
(skill: invading others' privacy)]
no subject
There's nothing left behind — it looks slept in, for sure. The drawers don't offer anything special.
Skill: finding things no one would think to look for.
What she can gather is someone has been sleeping in dis bed.
There's nothing else of value here! ]
no subject
Well, time to get out of here, then...!
She'll head back to the door and peek out into the hall to try and time her escape properly against the patrols.
(Is it just her, or is this going a little too well...?)]
no subject
Did someone say things going too well? ]
I want the roses preserved. Paint the white ones red to imitate the real red roses. I can't afford to lose them.
[ As she exits out into the hall, she will see the Queen in her robe and hair undone, dragging behind her as she steps down the hallways and
right into Sheba. There's moments of being caught off guard — being absolutely floored, but she stammers. ]
G-Guards! Seize her!
[ Which, they attempt to.... ]
no subject
Sheba lets out a yelp as they collide, and she stumbles back a few steps, catching herself against one of the hallway's walls before bolting.
Of course, there's lots of them and only one of her, and she doesn't know the layout of this place as well as they do. Even if she does manage to get past them by ducking and weaving, it won't be long before she gets stuck at a dead end and finds herself cornered.
She casts a glance for anything useful - something that she might be able to throw or fight back with - but most likely doesn't find anything, so she balls her hands into fists.
They'll have to take her kicking and screaming. When it comes down to it, though, she's just an idiot fourteen-year-old, so that won't be difficult.]
no subject
It's not until a row of cards completely block her exit on all sides, grabbing her with force to bring her back to the Queen.
The Queen looks different — her face not as beautiful as she would have been lead to believe at her appearance. Red veins snake across her features, leading towards her eyes which were pure black. Yikes. ]
Bring her to the ballroom — bring her now! Do not let her a chance to escape!
[ And so she's dragged. ]
no subject
What are y— Hey! Let me go!
[Her struggles are ineffective; back into the ballroom they go, whether she likes it or not.]
no subject
[ She motions for a chair, seated right next to the Queen's royal table. Her fingers are quick, snatching up a sharp steak knife before slamming it dangerously close to her on the table. ]
You're trying to ruin the Hatter's ball, aren't you? Trying to overthrow the festivities...? No, no, no — no, you won't.
no subject
Sheba flinches when the Queen slams that steak knife into the table. The woman has more force behind that blow than she'd expected of her - and that knife looks really sharp...
She takes a breath.]
I'm just trying to make sure that the people who show up won't be walking into a trap! Who would just trust a Mad Hatter at their word?!
no subject
The letter read quite pleasant, if I say. The Hatter welcomes you for a joint party... Tch. I can not wait you foreigners to be gone.
no subject
[Or, well, she can, but Sheba will disagree with her until she's blue in the face. "Annoying," indeed.]
If you want us to be gone that badly, then send us home. It can't be that hard.
